Our Senior Associate Town Planning Consultant Adam Bennett recently updated Salisbury City Council’s planning committee about proposals for the city’s Cathedral Hotel.

The landmark property in Milford Street closed in July 2022 and have been taken over by a new owner who wishes to breathe new life into the historic Salisbury building.

Proposals for the grade-II listed building include restoration of the hotel’s original central staircase, renovation work and a rooftop bar with views of the city and cathedral spire.

We are advising the owner on various elements of the development, including a planning application to Salisbury City Council.

This promises to be a major development to enhance the city centre, boost the local economy and hospitality sector and bring an empty building back into use. We will keep you updated.
