Ken has been heading up the team dealing with a major supermarket appeal in Christchurch. The proposals are to facilitate the relocation of the outworn Beagle aerospace engineering works to a new site. The issues revolved around impact on the setting of Listed Buildings and adjoin conservation areas, retail impact and issues relating to disturbance from traffic. The proposal is an exceptionally well designed building which it is argued will not cause harm over and above the existing situation but which will bring with it massive benefits to the local community not least saving existing and creating new jobs and significant highway and environmental benefits.
